Trend # 1 Yellow Gold Highlighter
Highlighter has been huge for a while now, and this spring the trend lives on. Up until now Becca’s Champagne Pop highlighter, which features a white gold shimmer has been everyone’s go to. But with the release of Rihanna’s yellow gold Killawatt highlighter everything has changed. If you have a darker skin tone, you are lucky because this trend will look AMAZING on you. For someone who is pale AF like myself, you have to get a little more creative with your placement in order to pull this one off. I highlighted my brow bone and the inner corner of my eye. And on my cheekbone I lightly used the highlighter and blended it well, and went with more of a light bronzed tone blush to give my cheek more of a golden bronze glow, rather then just a straight up harsh gold streak going up my cheek.
Trend #2 The Shiny Lip
For a long time we have all been surviving the matte lip, and as much as I love the look, it's hard to find a matte lipstick that doesn't leave your lips feeling dried out (there are some that do a pretty good job.) But I am excited that a shiny/creamy lip has graced the runway for the S/S 2018 more often then not! Hello moisture! Not to mention it is so much easier and quicker to apply a cream lipstick or just a plain old lipgloss.
Trend #3 Smudged Eyeliner
Mom's rejoice, while liquid liner is still "in" the smudged look is also just as "in" this season. Smudging out a pencil liner, is wayyyyyyy easier, and much less time consuming then having to perfect a perfect winged liner. Just line the top of your lashline, no need to make it perfect, and then take your smokey liner brush and smooth it out. SO easy. If you have smaller facial features like myself, I recommend using a brown liner rather then a black. The brown will just be a little softer and you wont end up looking like you have 2 black eyes.
